Baclaran Church or The National Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help replaced the INRI sign of their cross with a signage placed similarly to the drug suspects in the vigilante-style killings.
“Stop The killings,” states the cardboard put on Saturday representing that Jesus Christ was an extrajudicial victim (EJK) too.
According to an InterAksyon covering of crucifix story, was a part of the weekend-long projects of the Church for Human Rights Day that includes the big reveal of the 700-foot long mural wall describing the parish’s seven missions that involve human rights protection.
The activity will be done for all expected Saturday masses and all Human Rights Sunday masses. It endeavors to create conversations on Human Rights.
Last year, the Church presented posters of casualties in the government’s anti-drug campaign as a sign of going towards the killings in the Duterte admin’s drug war.
Redemptorist priest and other groups, according to Rappler, began “Kilusang Artikulo 13” — a campaign requesting the government to respect life and human rights. The number refers to the 13th article in the Philippine Constitution on “Social Justice and Human Rights.”
